Anchora ("we," "us") is a private companion for people in recovery. This policy explains what we collect, where it lives, and the control you have. Plain language, no jargon.
Anchora is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
To run your account and back up your progress, we collect:
Your journal photos and voice notes never leave your phone. Your Face ID lock, saved affirmations, and app preferences also stay on your device and are not uploaded.
We use your data only to run the app: to save and sync your progress, power the community and messaging features you choose to use, and unlock your membership. That is it.
We do not sell your information. We do not show ads. We never share your recovery data with advertisers, ever. Your journal, reflections, plan, and reasons are private and are not shown to anyone.
Anything you post in Circle or send in messages is visible to the members you share it with. You can turn on Anonymous mode so your name is hidden, and you can report or block other members at any time.
You can export everything at any time in Settings, as a readable PDF or a complete data file. You can permanently delete your account and cloud data from within the app in Settings, or by contacting us.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including access controls that restrict your records to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your recovery data with the care it deserves.
Anchora supports your recovery but is not a substitute for professional medical care, therapy, or emergency services. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988, or call 911.
We may update this policy as the app grows. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app.
